ST BARTS OUTREACH
FAHWA continues our outreach to support St Barts in the provision of their services to the most vulnerable groups in the community.
We printed hard copies of WA COVID-19 flyers and A4 updates. This information was distributed to users of St Bart’s services.
Some of our valued FAHWA members continue to donate hygiene and food packages to those in need and provided health checks on a one to one basis to flow practice.
We donate food and groceries to Foodbank WA on a monthly basis. They provide food and groceries to over 400 registered charities that provide emergency food assistance to people in need.
Our friendly team of volunteers conduct mobile health promotion clinics at a variety of metropolitan venues.
The clinics provide assessment and screening for diseases and symptoms conducting blood pressure checks and taking blood sugar levels. These services serve as early identification of conditions of lifestyle diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and obesity.
We also provide information on nutrition and exercises for people who at risk from these lifestyle diseases.
We brave the cold nights and hit the sidewalks to distribute personal packs to the homeless.
